What is Recovery Home Living?
For those who struggle with addiction, everyday life is full of temptations. Aside from potential stressors and triggers, the availability of drugs or alcohol within work, home or social environments often enables substance abuse. Living an abstinence-based lifestyle is much harder when you are regularly confronted with the choice to drink or use, particularly in the early days of recovery.
As a result, many people choose to make a Recovery Home residence their home following residential treatment. Recovery Homes are substance-free environments that hold residents accountable for their actions through regular meetings, house rules, community events and certain expectations. Recovery Home living eliminates the worry that there may be drugs or alcohol in your home, creating a safe space where you can decompress and relax in healthy and productive ways. A Recovery Home also gives you a built-in community of recovery-minded individuals who are all following the same path to a healthy, recovery life.
What We Do
Phoenix Recovery Support Services provides a structured, safe, clean, and recovery living environment for men seeking to continue their recovery journey and remain free from substance use. We offer a host of wrap around services through our linkages with other agencies that offer additional resources to strengthen our residents' efforts to become productive members of society.

Who We Are
Phoenix Recovery Home staff are qualified substance use professionals certified by the Illinois Certification Board. We provide recovery education designed to equip residents with tools for recovery living. Residents are supported as they practice using these tools during their time with us.

How We Can Help
If you or a loved one is trying to stop drinking or using drugs, Phoenix Recovery, a IDHS licensed facility may be an option. Residents must stay clean and in recovery throughout their stay. Many people use recovery homes to help them transition from rehab to living independently without using drugs or alcohol. Phoenix Recovery Home can be a help by supporting those adjusting to life of abstinence.

Who Should Choose A Recovery Home?
A Recovery Home is most often a transitional step between substance abuse treatment and independent living. Recovery Home living is recommended for people who are leaving treatment and do not have a safe environment to return to — perhaps they were living with enabling roommates or come from a difficult family environment. If you or your loved one is seeking a safe and supportive living space while regaining a footing in society, a Recovery Home might be the right choice.
A Recovery Home requires a commitment to one’s personal recovery. These residences foster teamwork and responsibility. Household chores are shared, interpersonal relationships are managed and others’ space, property and views are respected.
Returning to a lifestyle in which you must hold yourself accountable for your actions is incredibly difficult for those whose lives have been ruled by substance use. The danger of relapse is extremely high in early recovery because many people attempt to jump back into independence too quickly after rehabilitation. Remember that there is no shame in asking for extra help, support, and guidance as you make this step, and Recovery Home can be an ideal middle ground between full-time care and complete independence.
